About the Anchorage by the Sea, Ogunquit's Premier Oceanfront Resort

Since we first opened in 1978, Anchorage by the Sea has been a devoted family-run organization. To us, it seems like just yesterday that the blizzard of 1978 posed a major challenge for us as we built our first phase of the Inn. Yet, despite the snowy weather, we were able to complete the project and throughout the next few years, expand and renovate the remaining property.

We continually strive to improve the property by freshening décor, replacing carpeting, and even rebuilding our outdoor pool to accommodate more guests.  Our latest rebuild has been the Surf Point 360, which was formerly the Surf Point Grill.  Guests can now enjoy their meals and view in the totally glass walled structured without fearing wind, rain or cold.  The top deck bar affords unsurpassed 360-degree views with both indoor and outdoor seating. Bar 360 is truly the best in Ogunquit—and one of the best in Maine—for views of the beach and Atlantic Ocean.

We would not be as successful as we are today without our dedicated staff, some of whom have been with us for 35+ years. Our own family has grown with our children marrying and we have also been blessed with our first grandson. Life is great in Ogunquit and we feel like so many of our guests are like an extended family having returned year after year and some, with their own new generation.
