We take pride in the care given to our groups. The guests enjoy their surroundings and all the "little" details here at the Anchorage By the Sea. In fact the only complaint we hear regularly is that our guests wish they had more time here. That's music to our ears! From the moment your group rolls into the Anchorage By the Sea driveway your guests will fall in love with the coast of Maine. The fresh salt air and the sight of the Atlantic Ocean will awaken their sense of adventure. After a warm welcome and brief orientation to the area your guests will be off to their rooms where they'll find many comforts awaiting them. All rooms feature two comfortable beds, a small refrigerator, cable-color television, direct dial phones, and individually controlled heat and air conditioning. Here on the Anchorage grounds they will find an indoor heated pool with attached whirlpool, indoor sauna, an outdoor pool (seasonally), and two outdoor hot tubs (year round). From this Anchorage port many aspects of Maine's Vacationland are convenient to your group. No matter what they are looking for, it is not far from the door. Within an hour's drive there is the picturesque city of Portland, two living history museums, three amusement parks, and two factory outlet shopping centers. Locally, Ogunquit offers several boat touring and fishing excursion companies, guide service, and theaters. Perhaps your group is looking for a relaxing getaway, the Maine Coast is the perfect spot to stop and reflect. There's the Marginal Way, which begins at our door and winds along the rocky coast into Perkin's Cove, a tiny fishing village. Just ten minutes north you'll find the Wells National Estuarine Research Reserve. This estuarine reserve encompasses1,600 acres of undeveloped and protected fields, salt marshes, rivers and forests. The reserve consists of Laudholm Farm, the Rachel Carson National Wildlife Refuge and Laudholm Beach. Slightly further north of the reserve, in Kennebunkport, sits the Franciscan Monastery. The Monastery lies along the Kennebunkport River and is bordered by the Rachel Carson Wildlife Refuge. The expansive grounds and gardens surround the open-air outdoor church and there are numerous footpaths that meander along the waterfront and wildlife preserve. Every member of our team is here to see that your guests are well taken care of and to ensure a memorable stay at this 'beautiful place by the sea.' With the addition of our Lightship building meeting space is now available for your small groups and intimate gatherings. We offer discounted rates midweek with the exception of July and August.
