Rob Robbins
At the age of sixteen, Rob began his musical career as a pianist/vocalist in the lounge at Lakewood Theater, the oldest theater in the State of Maine. Headliners such as Milton Berle & Della Reese found their way to the lounge after their evening’s performance where they gathered around the piano giving Rob some pointers on how to entertain & capture an audience. Since that summer in 1978, Rob has performed in first-rate hotels, resorts & restaurants from Maine to Florida & in-between.
Rob's impressive repertoire & versatility in styles of Pop, Jazz/Swing, Rock, light classics & more earned him the title “Portland’s Piano Man”. He led his back-up band for Jay Leno’s performances and also performed for First Lady Barbara Bush in Kennebunkport. In addition, he had his own house band at the Sheraton Hotel & the original Valle's Steak House in the Portland area. He held four successful summer seasons in Harbour Town on Hilton Head Island, S.C. and then began what would become a ten year winter engagement at the Colony Hotel in Delray Beach, FL and ten summer seasons at the Bethel Inn in Maine. Currently, Rob is back for a 4th season at the Anchorage Resort in Ogunquit, working on a second album of original music, part of an ensemble in a “Dueling Piano” show and performing throughout the Northeast.
